Ordering from amazon and programming yourself might be an option depending on year make and model.

Can call around some of the locksmiths. They usually charge less.

edit - american lock & key, and some place downtown does it as well.

There are a lot of places that will come to you and replace the fob (and program the new one for you). I believe tigers locksmith had some fairly good reviews when I was looking recently.

Also, I went the Amazon route as well (as suggested above) at first. According to what I read online I was supposed to be able to reprogram it myself, but that was not the case. The seller took it back no problem, but it was a waste of time and shipping costs.

Well with all the pertinent info posted (year, make, model), you should get the answer you're looking for.

Try Key Harbor in Raleigh NC {919} 787-0823
They repaired [saudered terminal] mine and returned in one week for $55 with a new lithium battery.
The "self-programming" shite seldom works correctly !

I have gotten them off Ebay and programmed myself. Most come with instructions on how to do it.
