Most frustrating LSU NCAA Tournament Games

A few come to mind.
2000 Sweet Sixteen vs Wisconsin - game was in the Pit and we were having tons of trouble with the altitude. Lamont Roland missed most of the game because he couldn't breathe.
2003 First Round vs Purdue - got our arse embarrassed. Could not shoot from the perimeter at all.
2005 First Round vs UAB - horrible matchup and the press killed us
1993 (I think) First Round vs Cal - the Jason Kidd game. He looked like Pistol Pete out there

Way to be negative a great day to be an LSU Tiger Basketball Fan

Not being negative.
Was just thinking back about our history in the tournament.
A lot of great moments. A lot of frustrating ones. The frustrating ones make the wins sweeter

We didn't even prepare for the press in practice. A player told me that at Ft Walton Beach during spring break the week after. Pathetic.

For the UAB game?
That is incomprehensible! They were a 40 minutes of hell team! Hahahaha

I'm a little nervous that Mickey might pull a Brandon Bass against UAB this Thursday

Definitely excited about getting back in the tourney and certainly a great day today for Tiger BAsketball and to see us seeded higher than I thought but to answer your question in due respect. A few come to mind. Certainly the biggest IMO was the loss to Indiana in the Elite 8 in either 1987 or 1988 when if my good hometown fella Fezz Irvin hits the 2 free throws, we win and on our way to the Crescent City for the Final 4 and probably win the whole darn thing since Indiana went on and Beat Syracuse for the National championship that year. 2 others come to mind, First round match up with Navy and David Robinson where they beat us and the first round loss to Dayton both back in the day. But let's go get the Wolfpack.

or josh gray pulls a tack minor.

We've still won games when Gray channels his inner Tac, but LSU won't win Thursday without Mickey's best effort

That stro show team would've made the final 4 had they avoided that Wisconsin team. Team was dirty. Beat a good Texas team

i'm just hoping he's actually healthy.

That 2005 UAB game hurt because the half of the bracket we were in was a great draw, but we just got a horrible matchup in the first round

that's what you call bad coaching

Brandon Bass being "asleep at the wheel" did LSU no favors. UAB still probably would have won, but it made the loss that much more frustrating

1987 LSU v. Indiana Elite Eight
Posted on 3/15/15 at 10:37 pm to The Truth 34
that's very true. I have to think nearly another week of rest should do the trick, but obviously LSU is going to keep his status hush

This one for me. That or the Indiana hack a Shaq game and Dale refusing to guard Allen Henderson on the corner jumper.

How about the UCLA final four game. Never even had a chance. Except for when LSU was up 2-0. LSU couldn't do anything right. Billy Packer was bagging on Ben Voogd. Brady had the team unprepared because he was out the night before getting drunk and banging hookers.

i was on such basketball high after they beat duke and texas, that i didn't think we had a chance of losing in the final four.
what a major letdown.

The 1987 loss to Indiana in the regional final was the worst especially given the way the officials caved to Bobby Knight.
The last second losses to Georgetown and California were tough.
The close loss to Georgia Tech in 1990 with an ailing Chris Jackson playing a sub par game.
The 2005 UAB loss was more understandable than many realize. Remember underdog LSU took Kentucky to overtime in the Saturday SEC semifinal. They flew back to BR on Sunday, then flew out to Idaho and its high altitude on Tuesday. On Thursday they played a rested UAB team whose tournament ended a week earlier than the SEC. It was the worst possible matchup for a tired half court team to play a rested 40 minutes of hell team which pressed and ran all game.
