Is this LSU softball team the best we have ever fielded?

The runs they are scoring are unlike any I have ever seen. I know we have produced multiple CWS teams with the pitching of Sneed and others, but the bats are monsters. They must have had 40 hits at No. 1 Florida this weekend. Power everywhere. This team is GOOD!!!

Bell has to be one of the best players we have ever had. UF had a top 3 pitching staff in the country and we proved how good of a hitting team we have.

We have had pitching. Just never remember an LSU team hitting so well. I hope they keep it going.

Florida had the second best team ERA in the nation before the weekend and we went in there and started wrecking shite. Who knows...the bats may dry up forever starting tomorrow, but we have proven that we can hit ANY pitching that we see down the road. The possibilities for this team are limitless...and they are YOUNG. Only AJ Andrews is a senior among the hitters who play a lot.

LSU historically had the pitching to compete for championships, but never had the offense to get there.

The combination of power and speed in this team looks amazing; and the coaches know how to apply them in different situations. Really hope the Lady Tigers would be able to go all the way; but has to take care of tough SEC competitions first.

certainly the best softball team that LSU has had since I have been following LSU sports...and that is a pretty damn long time...

36 hits to 17 for the series. Out hit Florida in each game despite the one loss. Huge hitting advantage in every game! Bodes well for the season! Congrats Ladies!!!

This team can certainly rake and a heck of a pitching staff to go with it. Seem to have everything covered: power, speed, bat control, deep pitching, great fielding.

Agreed Florida beat oregon who was #2 if we dominate Bama, and UL we should have a shot at the NC!

That being said, I sure wish we did. This is by far the best softball team LSU has had since it's re-inception. In the late 90's, they definately had the bats, with Ducote, Otten and Asbil, among others, but didnt quite have this deep of a pitching staff and had problems with Compton. This team is magical and hopefully they can take it all the way to the WCWS victory!

A couple? of years ago we got a girl from the northeast somewhere that was suppose to be super fantastic. she was a pitcher that won essentially every game in high school. Is she still on team and what is her name? Obviously, I dont keep up with softball till this year but i have been wondering how well she did/does in college.
