Is it just me, or does he look uncomfortable/ unhappy out there ? He settled in nicely and ended up pitching a pretty good game, but he just looks like he is either unhappy, constipated or having major anxiety attacks. Even once he settled in & was pitching well, he still looked very anxious.

He always starts slow for some reason. He's young, he will be just fine imo

He still has a lot of growing. It's not fair that he's going to be compared to Lange all year. He's on another level. I think Godfrey is doing okay. Today was rough. But every other start had been a step forward. I'm hoping this was just SEC jitters.

I agree. I guess it's just his body language & all the "f bombs" (reading his lips). He didn't want to get yanked, but he did well enough & will get the win. Hopefully he can chill.

I don't think he's quite there with on the field maturity and emotion control.

He's an emotional pitcher, he consistently for the past couple starts seemed to get all riled up in the first inning or 2nd, whether it be a few hits or can't find the plate. Dunn gets him back down and he settles in.

A few years ago, I believe, in Nola's first year he would take an inning or two to get in a groove at the beginning of the year. Nola wasn't as emotional on the mound so he got his act together faster. Godfrey will get it done.

Later on in the year our rotation will be stout, CPM may even move up Lange.

They've said that he can let his emotions take control, but they are working on that.

I saw how upset he was when PM came out, but i like that (as long as he continues listen to the coaches) because it means he has fire to play and win.

He's got another 4 weeks before he even throws. I highly doubt he starts this year.

No CPM won't. He's said he wants his best pitcher on a Saturday so, no.

Rocky start, then he settled down. 1st. SEC start. Give him time. He will be fine.

I feel like if he can get past the first inning or two, he'll settle in and you can get a solid 5 or 6 innings out of him. Only giving up one run in that disaster of a 1st, and the 5 spot in the bottom of the inning definitely helped his confidence today.

I tend to agree.

Being emotional on the mound can be an asset or it can cause a train wreck. Hopefully he uses it to his advantage.

He's very emotional which is not a great thing for a starting pitcher....He makes me nervous but very talanted of course....If he can harness his emtions he'll be realllllly good...

Very talented but has command issues. At one point today I think his pitch count was 38 strikes and 35 balls. Will only get better.

He and Lange will wreck shite the next couple of years.

I'm pretty sure it was 40 balls and 37 strikes.

Kind of reminds me of a young Tom Seaver. Takes an inning or two for him to get into the flow of the game, but he battles all the way.
He didn't have his best stuff today, but he competed with each pitch.
