Is the slogan Love Purple, Live Gold trademarked?

I was at the grocery store and saw a kid with a t-shirt with this slogan on the front. I was going to ask him if he goes to LSU since I don't see that very often out here. Then I noticed it was a t-shirt for a local high school whose colors are purple and gold. It ticked me off because that slogan screams LSU to me.
