Does this make the 2014 draft look even worse?

I'm totally ok with this trade and understand it, but last year multiple starting centers were drafted after SJB and even Fortt. 
With the center position being a well known weak spot, last year's draft would have been a great time to grab one.

I really think that we were going for the center from USC, but he was literally drafted the pick before us in the third round

Think of it this way, if Jimmy hadn't been such a douche with his contract negotiations, we could have possibly signed a FA center before the draft and still drafted the same heaping pile of shite! 
But in all seriousness, it's too easy to take hindsight a year or more out and say a draft looked really good or bad.
Also, a year later in 2014, the 2013 class minus Rufus Johnson looked like a ridiculous home run on all 4..... Another year later Vacarro and Jenkins have super down years. It's all relative.

Good points. It just sucks, because Saints Talk was all over this before and after the draft. Does Loomis even read this shite?

For the talent the 2014 draft had and to come away with what we did, it was a complete disaster.
We whiffed bad and drafted too many projects. Big reason why our entire scouting department got the axe. I look for a much different draft philosophy for 2015
