Seattle is getting our pick. I wanted some time to digest all this and see where the dust settled…but it's starting to look more and more like Seattle gang-raped us on this one.

They basically gave up a good but injury ridden Center and 78 spots in the draft for a top 2 TE in a pass happy league.

Traded legit tight end for a legit center (advantage - Saints)

Traded 4th rounder for a 1st rounder (advantage - Saints)

Not sure how we didn't get right value

If that is the case we essentially would only net a early 2 outta this deal but ESPN reports we are getting multiple picks.

This is the first time in a while where the Saints will have a true starting caliber Center. They've constantly thrown shite at the wall and hoped it would stick, in regards to that position. Everyone forgets about the Center until you don't have one.

Considering our track record with 1st/4th rd picks, it's almost as if we gave up our 1st for a 4th.

Unger's an All-Pro and we get their 1st rounder, this year.

Seattle gets a guy who disappeared against top notch defenses and the 108th pick in this year's draft.

I fail to see how you say Seattle got the best of us.

Basically, but that doesn't cover it completely. They got a GREAT receiving TE that doesn't block well that commands a big salary.

We got a GREAT center that we desperately needed. This should shore up our interior line and really help Brees get to his second and third reads.

It all depends on what we get with that 31st pick.

I hope to god we have an awesome draft. I am not very optimistic though.

A knowledgeable All-Pro talent at center as well one that commands the line on assignments like a true leader.

According to Seattle fans...

So Unger is an all pro that's had injuries. Jimmy is an all pro that's had injuries. Take your Jimmy jersey off. WE can win a superbowl without Jimmy. We can't win one without an Oline period.

Unger is worth a pick(or more) on his own

He was an All Pro once in 2012. He is no longer an All Pro. He missed most of last year with an injury (and if I recall, had some fumbled snap issues with Wilson).

There is probably an undisclosed conditional pick that will be discussed when its signed.
