Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti's inability to get his team functioning properly is likely to cost the Italian his job with the European champions this summer, says Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague...

When Real Madrid have everyone available, like Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos, physically on top of their games and on form, then they can beat anyone. Even if one of their three forward players is missing, and they have to play 4-4-2, which is what they did for most of their 22-game winning run. In fact, that is even better as it gives the team balance.

But it is quite clear that now they are not at their best physically and they have a problem in midfield in that they do not know what to do with the ball. And that is down to manager Ancelotti allowing the team to play with that physical power and pace, but not preparing them collectively to find different ways of attacking.

The sense in France is that PSG will seek to replace Blanc in the summer unless he can deliver progress in the Champions League. After consecutive quarter-finals, defeat against Chelsea at the last 16 phase would represent a huge disappointment in the context of the massive squad investment of recent years. With their respective European pedigree at clubs outside the absolute established elite on the continent, Diego Simeone, Jurgen Klopp and Rafael Benitez would be prominent contenders for any summer vacancy at the Parc des Princes.

some saying he gets sacked right away if they don't beat Chelsea

Blanc...I could see.

Ancelotti...no way.

That being said, if Ancelotti gets the boat then I feel like Pellegrini's leash gets a little shorter. Personally I think City wait until they can get Pep but I wouldn't be surprised.

So with the fickleness in Madrid if they don't win La Liga or UCL....yea Ancelotti may want to start considering exit strategies

I feel like it's pretty clear Carlo will be in Manchester next year.

Current RM squad isn't any more unbalanced than Mourinho's at any point during his tenure, and I like Mourinho. Think he'll get another year regardless.

The fact that there's even speculation and Florentino Perez isn't doing anything to quell it is alarming. If I'm Carlo, I don't want any part of that.

Nah, still have the domestic treble to play for. They would wait.

I think that that's part of the job. Plenty of multi-million dollar players haven't had their future reassured, too. Don't think that he'll ever end up with one end screaming his name while the rest of the stadium whistles him like Mourinho.

Real Madrid is a weird team.

My anus could manage PSG to any domestic trophy. The fact Ligue 1 isn't already locked up is hilariously pitiful.

Lyon is pretty good actually. PSG have only lost 2 games, just fricked around and settled for a lot of draws. It shouldn't be that surpring that they have a hard time maintaining focus all season. They have started to flip the switch though

True, the fact they can be totally focused on Europe was the only thing that had me worried going into this matchup.

It's gonna get down right hostile at the Bernabeu if they lose El Clasico.
