Anybody here Actually Believe in the Killing of Gen. Patton Conspiracy?

Haven't really heard about it before. But my grandfather got me Killing Patton for Christmas and told me about the theory around it. I'm not much of a "truther" I don't believe we had anything to do with 9/11 or really any of the major conspiracies out there. Still a little skeptical on Lee Harvey Oswald and the single shooter theory that was in the Warren Commission, but other than that I'm not huge into conspiracies. Anybody got any insight on this?

I know there were suspicious circumstances about his death, didn't know the whole story. However I do know that what they say about them kowtowing to the Russians are true. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the fgov killed him. I will say I am nor a fan of the gov to say the least.

Accident or not his death was suspicious and cleaned some things up for the fed government.

Need to read the book first, but I certainly believe the fgov has people- friends and foes- killed. Just depends on who wants who gone.

That article (or book) seems ridiculous. I don't know a ton about it but I saw a documentary not too long ago and the way it was told then was that Patton was up and walking around after the car wreck. He was well enough to demand that the soldiers who hit him, who were drunk, not be arrested and have their lives ruined. That's where most of the cover-up business comes from. This doc left it open ended as to what happened when he was recovering in the hospital, but that's a far cry from asserting he was shot during the accident.

My grandfather served under Patton with the 89th ID, which was under 3rd Army, and he always told my Dad that it was a setup. Apparently one Unit came across a big stash of gold bars, or something just as valuable after they took Berlin and Patton wouldn't let any Solider take anything back. It was always rumored that a group of Soliders, including high ranking Commanders setup the accident. Just a theory from someone who was actually there.

From what I remember Patton didn't care for the Jews and wasn't going along with the plan after the war. He also thought we were fighting the wrong people at the end of the war. Paton wanted to jump on the Russians right then and there.

While a great combat commander, Patton was a little nutty.....he would have sold his soul for the MoH which is crazy in itself. No one "tries" to get the MoH intentionally. As far as him hating the Russians, that line was fairly long. Patton was also a big mouth and believed he was always right and everyone else was wrong.
IF we wanted him dead, why set-up an elaborate scheme; it was wartime and friendly fire happens all the time.

Brad Meltzer did a show on this. I think it was a setup.

For correction - he was a 4 star.
He was on a hunting trip; remember VP Cheney's hunting accident? There you go

They were in a car wreck for goodness sake. He wasn't shooting from the vehicle.

Patton was considered crazy but the majority of what he said turned out to be correct. Everything from D-Day to where US/Russian relations would end up.

Reread my 1st post; why set-up an elaborate scheme when an accident does the job.....a 'friendly fire' hunting accident a.k.a. like VP Cheney's for example. There are many ways to 'off' someone without the need for an elaborate scheme and a traffic accident seems like (IMO) it would be the least effective.

There was no conspiracy.
If Patton didn't die, he would have just gone the way of MacArthur.

4 Star General Leslie McNair was killed in France by American bombers during the opening phase of Operation Cobra in July 1944.

From Patton's Diary:
quote:
"where, although room existed, the Jews were crowded together to an appalling extent, and in practically every room there was a pile of garbage in one corner which was also used as a latrine. The Jews were only forced to desist from their nastiness and clean up the mess by the threat of the butt ends of rifles. Of course, I know the expression 'lost tribes of Israel' applied to the tribes which disappeared -- not to the tribe of Judah from which the current sons of bitches are descended. However, it is my personal opinion that this too is a lost tribe -- lost to all decency."
