Anyone with any feedback pos/neg regarding condo/apt/house rental for the weekend on NOLA using these sites? We have a group looking for this weekend and hotels are scarce and very expensive and properties on these sites seem reasonable, but are they legit?

Any info would be helpful.

Just curious....do you still pay taxes for these type of rentals? Is it the same taxes that a hotel charges?

From the quotes I've seen, no. But some of them charge a cleaning fee, service fee and/or damage deposit.

Legit. Just vet through reviews.

Vrbo is as legit as it comes. Real gems sometimes

I have a top floor 2 bed 2 bath condo with large balcony in the warehouse district that is available. I rent it to actors/producers/etc working on films but just had someone move out so it's in between renters right now. If you are interested email me at bcicondominium@gmail.com and I can show you a link to some pictures that one of my agents has in her site.

I'm sure it will be. It normally doesn't stay empty long. This is actually the first time it's been vacant in 2 years. Just really depends on how the movies fall. But email as it gets closer just in case.

Prefer not to mention names. There is probably only one that you would have heard of anyway. It's mostly producers/directors. I had one of the producers from the recent terminator and some movie called geostorn. Had one of the top guys from Django when they were filming in town too. It's a decent size bldg so the actors like more privacy, at least most of the more recognizable ones.
