Trent didn't offer. Considering how we had so little talent back then and how he needed areas of his game developed, he wouldn't have made much of a difference in terms of wins until later on in his career though. We would have needed more than a guy like him. He has impressed though.

Low ranked 3* from north LA. Played on Arkansas AAU team.

Trent didn't evaluate well.

Huntington is a terrible school and hasn't produced anything of note since Albert belle. It's easy to see how a good player there could go unnoticed.

I'm sure TJ somehow didn't see any potential

Troy Edwards was pretty good, at least good enough that he broke a bunch of receiving records at Tech and got drafted in the 1st round by the Steelers. Jarret Fobbs was good in high school but probably would have been better served at Tech or Northwestern.

Their basketball program usually produces one or two guys that go some where like a Tech or Northwestern and they are most often in the playoffs.

I mean the kid isn't THAT good. He gets brought up once every 3 months. You'd think we missed out on AA.

He's REALLY good, not just like an average player. But has almost elite athleticism, a good long range jumper and is 6'6. He's similar to Tim Quarterman but bigger (able to play the post some) without the ball handling ability.

Just look at how he's grown as a player:
LINK

15.3 points, 5.4 boards, 1.6 asts, 0.6 blocks and 0.9 stl to only 1.7 TO this year shooting 41.8%/34.3%/77.1%

Would be a huge addition to this team, unfortunately Trent was awful

Qualls was the first commit in that 2012 class for Coach Anderson. He was never considered by TJ, however it should be said that every other SEC school ignored him as well. Arkansas got the diamond in the rough. Wichita State was the other big-time basketball school to seriously recruit him. LaTech did want him but he chose the only Power conference school to recruit him.
