It's not all on the staff, it's all the PC retards that are looking for any reason to show LSU cannot properly take care of a tiger. The days of forcing him into the trailer with cattle prods are long gone.

they actually do try to lure him into the cage with bait but from what I understand he doesn't fall for it

Do they even try the "tbone method".. I mean i'd bet pretty good money if they just not feed him right before and toss in a tbone the fricker is going get it.

frick toss in a baby live goat for all I care and let him maul it in the cage as we park him behind the opponents bench

Well yeah he has possibly been in the stadium a handful of times if that over the last few years... read the rant every gameday and there will be several threads bitching and moaning that jr didn't get to see mike circling the stadium

I don't think so. Mike lives like a king and LSU has already given Peta the bird over this issue before.

Also, for the "Mike needs a mate in the habitat with him" crowd, just fyi, tigers aren't really pack animals and prefer to roll solo.

u serious, Clark? Lives a pretty boring life. No way to assert dominance, nothing to hunt, no bitches to chase. Just tiny children to paw at through some magical, unseen shield that prevents him fr

Wow. Anthropomorphize much? He's a tiger. A solitary simpleton. Quit viewing his existence from your human perspective. He's probably pretty content in his enclosure- food, water, security. The biggest problem he has is people staring at him on game day. His existence is pretty good. Thus, LSU will have a mascot for a long time and he won't do anything he doesn't want to.

See my edit above

The last time he went into the stadium, the fireworks apparently scared the shite out of him since they went off in the same end zone as his trailer. Given my vast tiger knowledge, I would guess he is no longer a fan of that trailer or anything it has to do with

I thought when I saw the habitat last year, they already have the spots marked for commemorating like 10 more Mikes. Anyway, when I used to read these threads, I thought the people that wanted to drug Mike and drag him into the stadium were mouthbreathers. But, I assumed he had to be hauled across campus. When I saw that dang palace right next to TS, my opinion completely changed and I thought get his arse in there.

shite, with the amount I drink on gamedays, if a vet handed me a cattle prod and said "go get him" I'm either coming out with a tiger in a trailer or dead

I hope that someone zaps your balls with a cattle prod.

The baddest mike

quote:

Mike IV, originally called Jerry, was born at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida in 1974. He was donated by August A. Busch III and was two years old when he came to LSU in August 1976. One memorable incident involving Mike IV began in the early-morning hours of November 28, 1981 when pranksters cut the locks on Mike's cage. The tiger roamed freely for hours, attacked a small tree, and appeared to be enjoying himself before becoming trapped in the Track Stadium near his cage. Three tranquilizer shots later, the wandering mascot was returned to his home without further incident and awoke without ill effects.[4] Mike IV reigned for 14 years and retired in 1990 to the Baton Rouge Zoo where he lived until his death in 1995 at the age of 21, the oldest of the tigers serving as LSU's mascot.

No way i'd hit that beautiful specimen with a cattle prod. Too much respect and i'm not cruel. I'd feed him bambi though.

On the rant, those discussions get pretty nasty. Lots of people wanting hot pokers, cattle prods, etc rammed up his arse. Strange people.

We'd expand the cage to justify not getting rid of Mike, if that's what it would take

I think this was some Tulane students if I remember correctly.

I also know a guy, or I heard it was him, that stole the donation box that was in front of the old habitat when they were trying to raise money for his current digs. Pretty fricked up.

No way in hell. All I know is that a lot of LSU fans hate the current Mike because he apparently hates getting in the cage and going to games

Shitfaced Ed is a wild arse dude

For real though, if a 500 pound tiger doesn't want to do something then It's not doing it. Aside from baiting the trailer, I don't know what else they could do. It doesn't really bother me like it does some other LSU fans. Its an awesome tradition but if being in the trailer and around crowds freak the tiger out then let it stay in its home. It's really a pretty trivial aspect of gameday in baton rouge

I just chalk it up to people talking out of their asses and not really thinking through what they type out... I get that

It's like the hard asses that talk about how quick they will put bullet holes in someone if they see them stealing loose change out of their unlocked truck in the drive way and stuff of that nature. So many internet bad asses out there.

They need to hook that mother fricker up to a winch and drag his arse in that trailer. Who gives a frick if he flips out? That's the whole point of putting him behind the opponent's bench

Yeah. Put more stress on a wild animal. I'm sure LSU wouldn't get in trouble for that at all or face any lawsuits.
