I was a few years ahead of you. Miss that place.

Old fart. I'm headed back to visit at the end of the month. I actually just got some Central BBQ sauce in the mail. Frickin life saver!

Quik Stop. Random gas station with an amazing mix of Asian food and assorted sandwiches.

It's called kwik check. And the crazy noodle directly next door is a gem. Best Korean noodle soups you can get in Memphis. Owned by the same family.

Definitely go to GUS's. To the folks proclaiming Flight as a top not a restaurant.....I personally just don't get it. Nothing made fresh and has a terrible reputation among industry folks in the city. Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen is the best restaurant in Memphis. The only others close are Ticer/Hudman's other two spots across the street Hog and Hominy and Porcellinos which just got awarded 4 stars from the CA.

Don't waste your time at Local. Unless you enjoy a bar that smells like puke, overpriced sub par food and terrible service. Only people who like that place are recent college grad frat dudes.

Restaurant Iris and the Second Line are two great spots by Chef Kelly English. He opened Luke with Besh and was CDC of August for a while. Also Ecco is a neighborhood spot off Overton Park that is terrific. You MUST go get a soul burger at Ernestine and Hazel's. Felicia Suzannes always has stellar food downtown and Erling Jensing's is old school French out east.

Whole in the wall spots I enjoy are, Evelyn and Olive, Arepa and salsa, Arcade, Lotus, Casablanca, alexs tavern, roxy's grocery, India palace, la guadalupana, la michachoana (sp?) Mexican ice cream, Belmont grill.

Yes it is. Forgot about Mcewins.

Memphis is right on the verge of really becoming a better place to eat and visit. The old tennessee brewery building is being renovated downtown to hold retails, micro brew and restaurants. The old Sears crosstown tower will open up spring 2016 and is part of a new arts district going through a 200 million dollar renovation. The Canale family is opening up a distillery directly across the street from Gus's Fried Chicken.
