To all of my precious students,

I am sorry for what I am about to do to you.

This week, I am going to have to give you a new test. It's called PARCC. There will be five separate tests, on four separate days, and my guess is that most of you will hate them. My guess is that one or two of you will be brought to tears because they will make you feel like you are not smart enough. My guess is that several of you will give up part way through the test and just start clicking around on the screen. My guess is that some of you will look around at the students sitting next to you to try and figure out if they are also as confused as you are in the hopes of knowing that you are not the only way feeling this way. My guess is that more than a handful of you will, at some time during the test, ask me to come over and help you with something and I will not be able to.

Letting her students know that they are all idiots and they should revel in their stupidity. Because life should be fair and this test is not fair.

I am just glad I made it through that awful letter. I'd take the test 10 times before I would read it again

Without knowing more, this letter kind of pisses me off. Sounds like a whiny, enabling, coddling poor excuse for a teacher. Granted I don't know the context here so I could be way off base.

This teacher is what's wrong with this country. She could have said something inspirational and tell the kids to knuckle down and give it hell, but she chose the pussy route. This is why those who can't do, teach.

Maybe she should spend more time teaching and less time writing for Huffpo and then her students would be prepared.

Me neither. I always did really well. And always finished each section early, which was awesome in high school where you got some absurd amount of time (like 3 hours) per section. And they were required to give you that much time even if everyone was finished.

I would finish in 1 hour and then take a 2-hour snooze until it was time for the next section.
