What exactly happens at the motel. Do the Mexicans and Chigurh show up at the same time and he just kills errbody?

Also, if Lewelyn doesn't take water back to the guy in the desert, does he get away with it? Without the truck, Chigurh doesn't know where to start looking.

the beacon was still in there.

I think Chigurh was pretty much an unstoppable force....he would have found him.

Yeah, but it's a short range beacon. It's not like he can detect it from hundreds of miles away. He had to drive past it for the beeper to go off.

Probably. I just like to devise alternate scenarios

speaking of spinoffs, what would you do if you were Llewellyn after you found the briefcase?

Well, clearly I wouldn't go back to the site for any reason

I'd go through the money to see if it's marked or for anything else I'd need to know about. I'd find the beacon, and discard it. Or maybe to throw off the scent, hide it on a slow moving freight train. I'd split the money up into manageable chunks, and hide it in various remote locations. I'd go home, act like nothing ever happened, and wait. After a year or two, if nobody showed up looking for it, I'd recover the money and unobtrusively drop out of sight, with a reasonable explanation for why I was leaving town. I'd live quietly and spend the money a little at a time. No extravagant purchases, no flashy lifestyle.
