Thank God someone did it. I get that basketball isn't as big down south as it is up north, but damn its pathetic seeing the PMAC practically empty for the last home game. I mean holy shite, you have a tournament level team and its half full! Absolutely disgraceful
You realize your talking about LSU basketball right. This isn't duke,UNC,Kansas etc. When JJ shows he can put a tourney caliber product on the court year after year then you will have loyal fans every night packing the PMAC. A packed house at any school is not granted in 1 short year it's earned.

quote:So Jamal and no other fans attending Golf/tennis/swimming is cool and we shouldnt feel bad. But having 10,000 attend or 90,000 attend and have some leave early is disloyal? Im sick of football players and fans feeling "sorry" for them. It is absolute bullshite thing to complain about as a player unless your arse is in the seat for all your fellow LSU athletes events from start to finish
Not the point at all. If you attend the event, stay to the end. That's what he's saying.

Screw it I'll bite my lip
He's wrong on many levels for accusing the PAYING fans they are disloyal to LSU.

Replying to no one in particular:
First off, there are a lot of people applauding this kid for being strong and voicing his opinion. As it’s been seen NUMEROUS times, in this thread alone, it really doesn't take much more than an account and a device with an internet connection to voice and OPINION on the internet. (Like, mine, for example)
If Jamal is worried about fans leaving early on a basketball game that was clearly lost from about mid-way in the second half, then he should have taken his talents to a more prominent basketball school like Duke, Kentucky, or Kansas.
Now, I did not go to the game, I watched a team bumblefrick through 40 minutes of basketball on TV because I didn't have a ticket, nor was I inclined to drive out after work to see it. I have, however, had season tickets to football off and on for a total of about 15 years. (FTR, I have never left a football game early, if for nothing else - me, my buddy, and the people we sit around like to chat and catch up for a few minutes after). But I will tell you this, had I been there (and I've been to a few basketball games) and I saw a visiting team running the clock out after sustaining that last run because the Tigers simply couldn't get over the hump and close the gap with those few minutes remaining, I’ll leave when I’m good and ready.
I think a kid that is going to play football and go to school for free, with all the benefits that includes – paid for by those fans that pay for the tickets that pays for his scholarship and meals and housing, should probably just shut the hell up about the people that provide him with that housing/meals/education – even if it’s just the tiniest part of that ticket they paid for - and thank them for buying the ticket in the first place. Just be humble and thankful that you were so supremely blessed with the athletic ability and skill set that there were schools (that I’m sure ALSO have at least some fans leave an obvious loss early) that wanted you to attend their school and play ball for them, for free.

Point well made. I hate it when fans leave early, Especially when the game is on the line, but the only player who seemed to care last night was Hornsby. I don't blame anyone for leaving early last night.

The way Jamal throws that lazy pass is horrible. I wouldn't stay to watch that crap. I could make a lowlite real of all the lazy, telegraphed passes that he has made..... Pitiful. It's also pitiful that he has to go to twitter to post dumb shite. Good luck overseas bro. Like one poster said, get Rosetta Stone

Are you fricking stupid? Does the football team not generate any revenue outside of ticket sales? Yes, you are fricking stupid.

So by that rationale, if he's there TO PLAY FOOTBALL, but nobody wants to watch the team play football (or a basketball team play sub-par basketball) exactly what entity is generating revenue?
You think people are just going to buy football jerseys and hats for a team they don't support?
Ticket prices have gone up and up and up, meaning the school obviously needs that revenue to help pay for shite. Are you saying they don't?

the team and the crowd were a huge flop last night

You play for the football team for that long? I don't know how you can say you're "more of a Tiger" than anyone, especially a soon-to-be sophomore who signed to play football here. Not his fault he's not old like you.
Reading comprehension: look into it. I said "Tiger" not "football player." I said "with LSU," not "on the LSU football team."
But let me tell YOU something about loyalty. Not you nor anyone can give me or anyone my age any shite about sticking it out with the Tigers. My "old" arse sat through Mike Archer and Curley Hallman when I was a student, in a half-empty Death Valley BEFORE the games even started. I was there to see us destroyed by Miami, Florida State, Alabama, Texas A&M, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee - not mere losses, mind you... UTTER DESTRUCTION. Our "plain, regular old" losses were to Kentucky and COLORADO MOTHERfrickING STATE. I was in person for all of that, all the way to the end. No LSU students have had to endure that level of humiliation before or since. It was a fricking nightmare. With no end. I have seen catastrophe. We had no All-Americans, we had no Bowl Games, we were lucky to even be broadcast on TV.
None of you little shits know pain. My classmates and I know pain. frick off, runt.

a couple of points to your misguided, lowly influential tiger droppings post.
1. Correct, it does not take much to voice an opinion via the web. However, Adams is a more prominent individual than you are (Your post, will most likely not spawn it's own thread, nor be reported by the "illustrious" advocate). So yes it makes sense that some people are calling him strong/applauding him
2. Being a scholarship LSU football player doesn't leave anyone in any way indebted to the fans. So no, he shouldn't 'Shut the hell up" because DontPokeTheBear thinks so. Additionally, the ongoing debate in the nation about the exploitation of college athletes I think is a nice counterbalance to your post.
3. Finally, I got no qualms about his tweet. I like the athletes having each other's back. but, like i said, my opinion holds less weight than Adams.

1) Adams is prominent because he has endeared himself to a fan-base of the school that provides him with a scholarship to play football. Yes I'll agree, he is more prominent than Don'tPokeTheBear on Tiger Droppings. However, at no time was I trying to compare the importance of my post on an internet forum to the tweet he sent out. I was pointing out that he did nothing more than what I am doing now: voicing an opinion. Does his carry more weight? Obviously here it does.
More to the point, it was that is was my opinion that he shouldn't have done it.
2) He is not indebted to anyone in particular of that fan-base. However, whether he is being exploited by the university or not, currently he IS being provided with an education, meals, and housing, bit by tiny bit, by each person that buys a ticket, jersey, and/or hat.
You know, if I CHOOSE to spend some disposable income on a ticket to go watch a game in person, rather than watch at home on my television, I'd rather not be chastised by one of the people I basically chose to spend it on, about when I choose to leave...Especially since that money I spent goes to help him, in however tiny way that may be.
3) As far as having each other's back, that's fine. I applaud him for that. But calling out the fan-base for leaving a game that was an obvious loss a few minutes before the clock strikes 0 is just poor form.

No I have a job where I was at.
That was a joke but your jockstrap seems to be on too tight.
Didn't realize only people that attended the game could post here...BITCH
Still got ya back Jamal.
