I think all the people in this thread who think there is never any reason to spank a child fall into one of 2 groups:

1: People who do not have children and have no idea what being a parent is about.

2: Parents who think their perfect little angels never do anything wrong and who's kids will grow up to be spoiled, self entitled douchey little hipsters hanging out with the occupy wall street crowd wondering why the world, in reality, does not revolve solely around them.

I would say anyone not willing to give an occasional spanking has probably failed as a parent.

I think the butt and back of the legs are fair game. If there are marks on the kid's arms, maybe he was acting a fool and flailing his arms around instead of just taking a butt whipping.

I know some parents go too far and whip out of anger and get out of control, but to say all spankings are child abuse is asinine.

I'm not the one calling people bad parents because they choose to spank their children. Do I think it means they made a mistake, yes. But it doesn't make them a bad parent.

Rag you really are gonna have to try harder considering the only posts I made in this thread were in regards to having to report child abuse as a medical professional and how my parents spanked me a handful of times as a last resort type of discipline. I think spanking (within limits obviously) is a personal parental choice.
