While talking to my grandfather and one of his friends yesterday, they said the dog woods would be blooming soon, so the sac-a-lait would be moving into the beds. Has anyone else heard this before or am I just way behind on this one? I've heard of watch the pecans to tell when it is time to plant, but not this one.

Same.

You're going to be 2 weeks late on white perch if you are waiting for dog woods to bloom.

Redbuds=white perch

Is it? Seems like no one is catching them on the bank yet, and the buds have been out for a while, no?

We always hit the lake for Crappie when the redbuds bloomed.

I don't know. I made that up. Redbuds are out now for sure and usually the first week of March is excellent white perch fishing. We've just had 2 ice storms in the last week and another coming tonight so it appears to be happening late this year for NWLA.

Huckleberries blooming time to set yoyo's for cat and perch is what my pawpaw always said. This has been a jacked up year I was catching perch full of bloody eggs in 30 ft of water this weekend. Once water temp reaches 56 it's on though.
