My wife and I are looking to buy our first house later this year or early next year, so we're starting to look. University Villas seems like a decent location, great materials for the price, etc.

I don't like how the homes in the front are so close together, but are those new homes towards the back going to have more yard and be farther apart?

Also, just looking on some input of what the neighborhood is like.

Good buddy of mine lives there. I actually put in an offer on a house there a couple summers ago but I got out of it during the inspection..

The houses are all cookie cutter which some people shite on but I don't really give a frick. They are starter homes in proximity to LSU. You'll be there 5 or so years and then be able to sell it easily or rent should you choose to. The houses in the back are all very close together as well but might have another 2-3 feet on the sides compared to the ones in the front. But they have bigger back yards and some are actually 2 stories.

It is very crammed and good luck finding a place to park if you have friends over. That's my biggest complaint. But it is gated which is nice and they are also currently building a pool house..

I recognize your screen name I'm pretty sure. After I got out of my offer on the University Villas house, I ended up buying a house in the neighborhood you currently live in.

ETA2: last time I was over there, lots were still available. You can customize your house if you build it rather than buy one currently for sale. For example, my buddy had his garage lengthened by a couple of feet and also had a gas line run out the side of his house on his back porch for his grill.

This is my only complaint. Living on burbank is a plus. Good starter home and you'll always be able to sell them.
