Star Wars prequels

Alien and X-Men franchises have set the tone for just ignoring shitty sequels. Would love to see Abrams just call a mulligan and remake the prequels from scratch. We'll just pretend the Lucas prequels never happened.

Those need to be left alone. Star Wars for me starts with the Clone Wars animated series.

Not remake, but can we revert back to the "Han shot first" version?

That would ruin the movie really. There are like 3 characters who have a truly human appearance. The others are greatly changed versions of humans and other animals/vegetation/things, and it wouldn't have the same magic to it if it were live action. It would just be weird. And 3D would ruin it too, because there's something that you can appreciate knowing that it is all hand drawn and wasn't just put into a computer to do it.

I guess I see what you're saying. It would definitely be a different take on the movie and lack some of the charm of the original, but I think it would also improve a lot of parts of it too.

The rumors are that Tom Hardy will be John Kelly in Without Remorse.

Does this movie work in todays world? Can we retcon Clarks past into the Afghanistan/Iraq war?

As much as I'd love to see it made, and I'm okay with that casting choice, they'd screw it up. Clancy's older novels are long and detailed. Red October was one of the shorter books, and the movie was 2:15 and still had to condense stuff.

Without Remorse could be done as a minseries ala HBO, or as two movies. Try to cram it all into 2hrs would suck.

It doesn't have to take place in today's world. They can keep the time period the same.

And I agree that it would be a better mini-series. It's a long book.

I wish they'd stop trying to update the Clancy stories and do them as period pieces. The Cold War was almost a character in itself in Clancy's stories, and I feel like its just cheapened by trying to update them.

Wouldn't there need to be a 4th Indiana Jones movie before they could remake it? As everyone knows, only 3 Indiana Jones movies were ever made.

There are so few movies if redone that wouldn't be ruined by modern day PC sensibilities. Can you imagine a classic such as "The Quiet Man" or "The Bridge on the River Kwai" in the hands of modern Hollywood?

Gun to my head, I guess "The Love Bug".

water world...that god damn set was beautiful. Costner is a wooden board, it was too showy and nonsensical all the way around.

there was a lot that could have been done with that concept

I agree. Have a better main character and a really scary villain instead of Costner and a very silly Dennis Hopper.

Might make for a better movie focusing on the girl. Give her the webbed feet and gills, along with the map. Make her a Whale Rider type heroine.

Shawshank Redemption

Since it would have no bearing on the story, reverse the race of the characters and have Shia LaBeouf play Morgan Freeman's character with Jaden Smith playing the lead. Robert Pattinson & Taylor Lautner can be guards. Set it in the south and have Sean Penn be the warden.

Would be a great movie.

None.

I wish no movie would be re-made.
