I know some of us discussing WW2. Thought this might make a good read.

quote:

Born in Lancashire in 1924. Joined the WAAF at 17, fighter command at Martlesham Heath, Orford Ness, and Bletchley Park. Stationed in Hamburg after the war. Went to Ireland and trained as a nun for 10 years. Left and went back to Lancashire and got married in 1958 and produced one child, ten pounds six, female, and didn't do any more.
Got interested in horses and got a horse (Fella) and had several more over the years until the age of 76 (at the end rode side-saddle). Survived bowel cancer at 70. Had a double hip replacement at 79. Knee replacement at 89. Now more machine than woman. Currently living in the Scottish countryside.
Granddaughter is down and is in charge of the AMA. She is on the computer and communicating with me.
