It's not dumb every four years when others are forgetting about Leap year and there you are knowing it's coming up.

Got this for casual and weekends

With this band

And this because I've wanted it for years and it's my first dive watch

That's not technically a dive watch is it? Does it have a screw down crown?

That being said, good looking watch, love the bond NATO.

Yes. It's the Citizen Eco Drive "professional diver" with a screw down crown.

I love it's bulky simplicity. Fell in love with it years ago and finally pulled the trigger on it (and the other one) after my daily beater bit the dust a couple weekends ago.

Good looking watch.

You can get an SK009 for $178 on Amazon if you like that look but want the Seiko family.

Yeah, I know, I have actually found the 009 for around $150 used in great shape.

I just felt like it might be good to get something a little different.

Is the 009 vastly superior to the NY 2300?

Picked this up just after Christmas for $36 from Timex. The leather strap is from Amazon and set me back $15. I have another black nylon Nato I got with this one. The watch itself has a blue with red stripe nato strap that it came with.

Thought a lot about the Seiko but I've been wearing diver/chronographs for a long time and I thought this was a nice change up.

but actually like the look of the jubilee.

I don't like the look. But some do.

Both are good watches.

So that $150 watch accounts for leap years? Is that what you are telling me? That it's a perpetual calendar? Hmmmmm

That was my weekend beater before it shite the bed. Just be careful with the crown. It'll snap off without much pressure. Happened twice to me.

You should really be careful with every crown.

I'm not disagreeing, however that one in particular is extremely fragile. I mean, it's a $30 watch. Wasn't much to it and whenever it hardly got caught on the shoulder strap of my camelback when I was putting it on my back, it was RIP.

IMO cheaper watch makers do better with military and other simple styles.

It actually is a good design for the blind fricks like me that need to put on my readers to see the date. Even with the magnified lens on my submariner I can't read it with out cheaters.
