Editing and Creating Music Mixes

So I'm hoping to choreograph a competitive stunt routine to video game music. I want to edit Mario Brothers, Sonic the Hedgehog, with a possible Halo Orchestra intro. My issue is trying to get it within about 144 bpm. Anyone know how to do that? I've used Audacity in the past to cut and mix music, but never to add a secondary beat with a tempo.
