The kids lives have turned up side down. This will effect them for the rest of their lives. I really hope Dad can find them a motherly figure to look up to.

Kids are much tougher than you think. I think it'd be harder on me as dad. I think you always keep talking about mom and never stop missing mom.

Unfortunately, when your number is up, your number is up...
My B.I.L was killed in a car accident 20 years ago by a scumbag drunk driver... he and my sister had a 5yo son.. The way the accident happened is what convinced me of the number thing..
Had a buddy, just last Saturday, 45 years old, die of a stoke in his sleep... No prior issues before..

My step daughter died of cancer 4 years ago with two kids under 5. What got me other than losing her, in which I pretty much raised. Is she wasn't able to see them grow up to be adults, and they want have a mother to nurture and guide them. Not a day goes by in which her mother and I don't think of her.

I have no Idea what I would do if I would lose my wife after losing my dad who was my best friend back in 07. I would lose my shite and probably go off the deep end if something like that happens to my wife.

I've asked myself (and God) this question many times over the past few years. It's a tough pill to swallow that God gives us our own free will and that people screw up that choice. And it's also tough to realize that God is sovereign, and we just can't comprehend everything in his plan.
