Years ago a family friend got a ticket there for rolling through a stop sign at 2 AM. There wasn't a car in sight for a mile in any direction except the cop who was sitting there on a side street

Yea I got a phone call as I was going through and didn't notice the speed drop. It pisses me off because I pass through there all the time. I should've known to slow down.

A few years back I got one there for traveling in the left lane when I was the only car on the highway.
I ended up not having to pay it because their racket set up violated state law due to the way the ticket was written.

That sucks. Isn't there a uniform fine rate for the state, though? In other words, a ticket in Olla shouldn't be more than one for the same offense in Marksville, Eunice, Prairieville, or some other such fine burg.
