Striking out 8.8 batters per nine innings, the hard-throwing right-hander finished fourth in the Majors in opponents’ average (.201), sixth in WHIP (1.04) and 10th in ERA (2.61) last season. Richards was also one of the best at keeping the ball in the yard, allowing just five homers in 168 2/3 innings for a Major League-low 0.3 HR/9 rate.

I remember that team, they were solid that year.

Some guys do take longer to harness their "stuff". The question is always can they hang around long enough to do so. A lot of times its taller guys though who just take time to get their mechanics down and be able to repeat due to their gangly limbs. Richards doesn't have that problem.

Cliff Lee comes to mind. It took him a while to figure it out.

Some people need to keep their twitter in check. It's the quickest way for an unfollow.
