personally I don't think it has anything to do with Alabama. I think it has more to do with the offense that LSU runs, most of the instate recruit LSU lose is on the offense side except for running back and of late wide receivers but ultimately that is really what's keeping LSU from locking down the state the offensive philosophy.

The reason you will never hear that is because recruits who love LSU aren't thinking about another school when they are committing to LSU.

A collection of Coincidences

A minority of LSU fans just happen to despise Alabama so much that they just happen to wish that a recruit (a highly rated one...not a three star) would publicly dis Nick Saban.

Possibly the same minority of fans just happen to take to facebook/twitter/TDings to dis any player that chooses Alabama. They just happen to talk about his family/friends/girlfriend and talk about how that player was offered more money to play at Alabama.

These same fans just happen to ignore the fact that if a State of Texas player were to publicly dis LSU, they would call him trash or a diva.

These same fans just happen to demand that our coaches get the best players from Florida and Texas, but just happen to ignore the new rule that they put on local Louisiana players about leaving their home state. Remember, these are only coincedences, right?

These fans just happen to also not care one bit if a three star athlete from say Alexandria/Monroe/Lafayette that is not rated as high as another five star athlete doesn't get an offer by LSU.....therefore that athlete is not as important to this small section of the fanbase.
These fans just happen to say that if a local Louisana recruit chooses to go out of state, then 'to hell with him,' but somehow forget two things......the aforementioned three star wanted to go to LSU, but this section of the fanbase just happens to say he wasn't good enough and that the Out of State recruit is leaving his home state to become an LSU Tiger....which just happens to be okay with this section of the fanbase. This is only a collection of coincidences.

This happens to be a severely lopsided and myopic way to look at in state Louisiana products that are "not allowed to leave the state....but only if they are good enough to come to LSU." How many of you have left your home state to go to school/work/live? Then tell us why.

This happens to be a wake up call to fans that think that the top 25 players from Louisiana are mandated to go to LSU. If you only take one point away from this post it is this.....

It is up to LSU to keep it's players in state and reap the benefits of playing for your local team. It is also LSU's responsibility to get talent from other states as well when local recruits choose not to go to LSU. It is also the responsibility of other schools to come here and participate in a sort of free-market recruiting game where they get the best talent that they can. If they sell their out of state school better than we can, then the recruit will go there.
It is NOT the fans' responsibility to chastize or simply BEG a recruit to 'put it to Nick Saban' publicly (this is one of the lamest wishes I have ever heard of). If this doesn't make sense to you, then there is nothing else to say.

I'm torn on who I despise more: the bamasessed OP or the poster who makes a point to come on the recruiting board that recruits and their parents and friends read to gush on bama?

Both are pretty fricking awful.

He takes more Georgia players than Louisiana ones and u don't hear them whining so much. We've raided Texas pretty good through the years and they're not bitching about Miles. It averages out. The fact that he's a great coach, has tons of money and more national titles in the past 8 years doesn't hurt either.

To the OP, Brandon Harris basically said those words when he stated " I rather be elected to the La. Hall of Fame than play for someone else and be elected to their Hall of Fame".

The obsession with Alabama and their coach by some supposedly LSU fans is pathetic.

Does it matter? Because a scholarship is a scholarship and that goes to show how much talent we have in the state.
