Except Kramer Robertson. His defense has certainly been better than anyone else's at 2B, but not perfect. With Greg Deichmann coming back in a few weeks it seems like he could really push Robertson at 2B, and even Zardon at 3B who is hitting well but has been a slight disaster defensively.

Anyone else think Deichmann will become a regular starter by midseason, or will both Robertson and Zardon hang onto 2B/3B?

I'm rooting for Deichmann to get some playing time once he's better, but he led the team in strikeouts in the fall, and his defense probably isn't up to Krobs.

I'm okay with Robertson at 2nd as long as he can hit above .250. His defense is better than the others.

I'm curious to see how we do against some real pitching this coming weekend. Should be a good test before SEC play starts.

Power hitting looks great compared to this time last year, hope they can keep it up. As for K.Rob, I think he will be fine.

Robertson just simply cannot hit...even bad Ivy League pitching...he is lost at the plate....no place in lineup for a player who cannot contribute...he cannot get around on fastball...popups, infield fly and his only hit in the series was a "bleeder" up the middle...

He'll hit .260 which will be plenty with his defense. Its an asset whereas hale's lack of range at 2B hurts at times. Now im sure half you tards think the team will hit .341 all year like they are now but they wont. Robertson .353 obp is more than good enough for a 9 hole hitter. As far as deichmann he had an awful fall and his defense at 2nd is laughable compared to KRob. This isnt gorilla ball anymore. Read a fricking book

Foster absolutely smashed his homer. Cool weather, wind blowing in from right field and he put 8 rows deep in left center
One of the hardest hit balls I've seen in the new box

Deichman is probably the 3rd or 4th best option at 2nd Base. Krob is a great 9 holet option while playing really good defense. He draws a lot of walks, high obp, a high number of rbis for a 9 hole hitter

He's doing enough to stay on the field but it's against far inferior pitching than what we will see in SEC play. I don't think we've faced a MLB prospect yet. 2B isn't a premier defensive position so you can only excuse so much. Like others said, what I'm really worried about is the fact that he looks lost at the plate with inferior pitching. What will happen in SEC play.

Time will tell. I know that hale at 2nd with Chi at first is a terrible option.

Diechmann didnt hit .372 as a freshman last year either. We've seen what Fraley can do in the SEC.

Yea we will have to let it play out. If everyone is firing on all cylinders like now, his bat will be easy to hide

Poche had good stats in high school. Let him get double duty at first.
