They're from 5-15 minutes long. About half are from Vietnam, the rest from Korea and WWII. Worth your time to watch a few. LINK

I believe I knew one of his grandsons at LSU. A relative anyway.

ETA. He was on the Dogfights show on the History Channel several years ago.

240 miles out, they needed an extra fuel tank and he still knew he was gonna run out before he got back.

That's a man right there, even before he took down 6 planes.

One of my favorite stories LINK

Butch O'Hare's father was Al Capone's lawyer, whose testimony helped send Capone to prison for tax evasion. It's always been suspected, but never proven, that his son's appointment to the Naval Academy was quid pro quo for turning state's evidence.

I saw that and wondered how the hell the rest of the pilots could understand him on the radio!
