How unfortunate that she didn't get to thank him personally.

Selfish douche bag. In another era he probably would have been a candidate for fragging if he's an officer.

The Soldier is probably suffering from PTSD. If that is the case, I concur he should be exempt from tipping and the government needs to make it a priority to help him in any way they can.

Don't take this the wrong way. I know some douchetastic officers. The guy I mentioned yesterday with the "theboss" license plate is a civilian now, but he's a West Point Grad who retired as a LTC.

But the whole "kiss my arse because I'm in the service" really isn't an officer thing. I've never seen that from an officer in over 9 years. I've seen it from plenty of NCOs. I even joked on the poliboard that it's pretty awesome how much free and discounted stuff we do get, but it's actually sometimes embarrassing to accept. 95% of people in the military have never been under fire, and the pay and perks these days are pretty damned good. I said all that to say that in reality, most of us don't spend most of our careers living in anything approaching a state of sacrifice.

thanks, I aborted a couple of posts to say something similar, even if that was fake, you normally see that type of behavior from some remf punk who was only in the army because he couldn't get on with McDonald's and I've seen lots of that, rarely if ever hear of this type of crap from the men and women that were in it for patriotic or altruistic reasons

It would seem more real if it read "your welcome".

One occasion, ok. Two, maybe. After what seems like the 200th one of these things I think it's time to realize than 99% of the time this stuff is BS

Probably fake but soldiers do have a vastly undeserved sense of entitlement.

He's done more than most of you have for his country. He shouldn't even have to work as a civilian, imo.

Impressive for a cartoon character. How does Homer Simpson measure up?
