Wasn't Lucas claiming that the original, unaltered masters were not in good shape so they couldn't do it? What a load of crap.

FOX still owns the rights to the original trilogy. Disney will get the rights to ESB and RotJ in 2020, but FOX will forever own the rights to ANH (as long as they wish that is).
