Unless they end up giving her the lifetime achievement award post-humously, this seems a little ridiculous considering everything she did for the Oscars.

She was not exactly a classical film actress...

She was associated with the Academy Awards to the rest of the world but only peripherally, not as an artist.

You don't have to be Marlon Brando to deserve recognition from deserve posthumous recognition. I mean she covered the Oscars red carpet for nearly 20 years and is probably one of (if not the) main reasons the red carpet is a spectacle itself. She was a staple (far more than most actors) of the Oscars, regardless of her specific job.

Add that to her career in comedy, television, and film and it a glaring ommision.
