I've found that in general Amazon reviews for movies are at least 1 star too high. It might change a bit with Prime Streaming, but previously I think most of the people reviewing were those buying, and if you're buying a movie you obviously liked it.
I like Mean Girls, but it's not a 5 star movie.

Maybe it's not in my wheel house due to age, but I always thought that movie was like a sanitized, girly version of Heathers...which was a ton better I think.
