So how would you tactfully tell your girl she needs to drop a few pounds?

She got a desk job about six months ago and she is slowly creeping up in weight. She's not fat by any means, but I am nipping this in the bud before she is pudgy like all my boy's SO's. She is always too tired to go to the gym and she claims other people at work bring junk to eat and it's always somebody's birthday so they eat cake and shite.

You can't win in this situation. She knows she's fat. If that's not motivation enough for her there's nothing you can do.
