Help from Uber Experts needed re: promos

Have only used Uber once and was able to get the 1st time ride/$30 credit, but am trying to find out if there is anyway to use another code for rides after your first one...
I have been given several other codes that have dollar amounts and don't specifically say 1st ride, but whenever I enter them it says a code was previously applied.
Anyone know if I'm just inputting wrong place or if I'm just SOL since its not my first ride

That's my next step, I just have several codes given to me by friends that I would prefer to use of that is possible.
Just wanted to make sure that there was not some different process I had to go through since its not the generic first ride free code.

If you sign up using a friends code, they get credits.
That and the new user are the only 2 codes I've seen.

Okay. I guess the code they gave me was only able to be used at sign up.
