quote:

“He is a Buckeye,” Whitfield said. “He’s a Buckeye. He’s one of those kids who had Ohio State wallpaper growing up.”

Instead, Miller appears intent on re-entering the fray at Ohio State this fall.

quote:

Miller too has remained silent, last speaking to a reporter in August. Whitfield said Miller “teared up” and was “wrecked” after blowing out his shoulder weeks before last season. But his outlook soon shifted, helped by a call from Saints quarterback Drew Brees, whose career was threatened by a torn labrum in 2006.

“Drew Brees called him and [Miller] said that picked his spirits up,” Whitfield said. “He had the same procedure, and he knows that with Brees, it seemed like it was all but over and he more than revitalized himself and turned himself into a Hall of Fame quarterback. He's got every confidence from that standpoint. I always smile when people say his shoulder seems shot, that it's time to get to running back, time to get to punt returner.”

No way he beats out Barrett or Jones in an honest QB competition. Those two have the downfield passing ability that Miller just doesn't provide. Barrett is the best college QB on that roster. Jones is the best pro.

I agree but it's so difficult to leave this athleticism on the bench. That second gif looks truly like a highlight from an NCAA 2016 video game.

If he was willing to go into a Percy Harvin role on offense, that would be frightening. Every time he takes a handoff in the backfield you have to be aware of a gadget pass play.

I remember that Cal game. That little RB from Cal who broke off the two really long TD runs had unreal speed.

Javid Best never played against Ohio State.

He's talking about Brendan Bigelow.

It is so absurd how stacked Ohio State is at the QB position. Their third string QB is last year's preseason Heisman frontrunner, and their second string just won a Big Ten Championship and National Championship. I truly believe that it's the best position group I've ever seen in football.

Barrett was a Heisman finalist last year. I would guess he is the favorite to win the job. Their offense unloading on Michigan State in East Lansing was as impressive as anything I saw in college football last year.

Ohio State has a bullpen. I wonder if Meyer will entertain some package that has multiple QBs on the field at the same time.

Something like this:

It's gimmicky but it's worth a try. Not many teams have three QB like that.

I don't really blame any of the three for sticking around tOSU [Even though I think Miller would be a great fit at FSU]. tOSU didn't lose any underclassmen to the draft. So the team itself is stacked.

Also, who's say that they would have the same success in a different system.

Problem is you only play 1 QB at a time.

That read option with a sideline option pass is awesome.

Miller didn't play last year. Barrett finished 5th in Heisman voting and was unstoppable at MSU.
