why is soccer played in the winter in Europe?

Fall/Spring make sense and even summer it doesn't get 90+.

Soccer is perfect. Don't change it. The Summer is great for the World Cup break (frick you Qatar).

As to your question; until recently everyone in Europe had a month of holidays/vacation in the summer (as do the footballers/soccer players). There´s also a brief Christmas holidays break.

Yes when I will be in Europe there is a U-16 event but I don't care much for that

While that sucks, you should try to see as many stadiums and complexes as you can. Tours are amazing. My friend (a United fan) did like 7 of them in England, and he said that the Lane had the best tour/access to my surprise. The dude loved it. He bought a Spurs polo in the gift shop.

Well every major league has a winter break other than the English leagues and English winter is nothing compared to mainland Europe. The German break is like a month and the Danish league is like 3
