Can you still buy these at the game from the ticket window? I have season tickets so its been a while since I had to do this but a friend wants to come tonight and I wasn't sure if he'd be able to just get a ticket when he got there.

Yep, i did it Saturday. Was told by several of the marshals that when the game started just find a open seat and sit down.

Should not have a problem tonight
Sometimes Fri and Sat SEC tickets will sell out but you can always find some outside stadium

They have an app now that will let you upgrade your seats once inside the stadium by letting you know which seats are vacant. That way you won't feel like such a stalker trying to find an open seat.

They announce it over the PA that you can do that. I'm fairly certain it's done through the offical LSU athletics app.
