Has anyone heard any updated information on his status? Would love to see what this kid has before SEC play.

He's out for another couple of weeks.

Pre season was 2-3 weeks. So I'm guessing Princeton at the earliest. I haven't heard anything since that number.

Was it extended?

When was this announced. Preseason it was 2-3 weeks and that was a week before the season started. I am not saying rush him back at all, just wondering if it really is another couple of weeks. If that is the case we may not see him until SEC play.

If he's ready in time, I could see him starting one of the midweek games before the Houston Classic (either Stephen F. Austin or Grambling). We need a 5th starter for that week anyway.

No I just meant he'd probably be out for the next 2 weeks, that's what I thought they originally said.

Will be tough to count on in SEC play if he misses all of non conference.

He would be midweek when he got back.

Saw him pitch at scrimmage right before he got shelved, he looked good in scrimmage. Threw hard.

Gotcha. Yeah, that would be his 3rd week.

Like Cheer, I'm leaning toward midweek before Houston classic. Not sure if I'd give him the start though if it's a fatigue-type issue. He may only get a pitch limit of 30 or so to start.

How did Doug Norman look in the scrimmages? He was REALLY hittable last night. Everything was 84-85 and flat.

@SmartestMoran: Mainieri says Jake Latz still hasn't picked up a baseball. Will likely need another MRI before he starts throwing. #LSU
probably another 3 weeks

Well that answers that. Might be like Ranaudo's freshman year where he doesn't pitch until late in the season.

Talked to Ben McDonald. He sounded like it could be something that lingers and could miss way more but he said you just never know with that injury

I think he said something about stress reaction or something like that. Not stress fracture though.

Same thing that has Jrue Holiday out longer than expected.

Norman pitched for other team against Latz in the same scrimmage, I thought Latz looked better, my guess is both of them were competing for that midweek start and if healthy it would have been Latz

I look for Latz to be a weekend guy before it's said and done and have Godfrey in the midweek role.
