Klinsmann has reached out to Hamburg SV’s Ashton Gotz about the possibility of the 21-year-old defender representing the U.S. on the international level, according to a new report out of Germany.

Ashton Götz is a German-American footballer who plays as a central midfielder or defender with Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga.

quote:

Klinsmann called Gotz last week expressing interest in bringing him into the USMNT, Gotz’s agent said, and Gotz is on board. In fact, the report indicates by late March, when the USMNT heads to Europe to face Denmark and Switzerland, Gotz could be called in to train with the Americans (Jurgen gonna jurgen)

Doesn't have a passport yet. Needs to contact his dad to get it and he only knows that his dad lives in New York somewhere. Also doesn't speak English.

Black dude who's unfamiliar with his father's whereabouts? Doesn't get much more American than that.

Seriously, let's fix this issue guys. SCH, be sure to raise your children.
