Trying to run some numbers on a vehicle purchase. What is a safe assumption for a cost or percentage cost for tt&l on a vehicle?

Title and license is not based on price so just apply your local sales tax rate to the selling price less any trade-in. Most dealers charge $100-$200 for title and license, depending on what they think they can get away with.

Sales tax is based off of your home address.
If you're still in Houma the sales tax rate is 9%. It's going up to 9.5% on April 1st, so you better hurry and save yourself some money.

If you are trading in you are only charged tax on the difference.
