Well, in that case, they are total morons.

because getting a "free' cinnabon studio (ie not having to pay a nickel for one), is nothing when you are filming a show like that.

Need a car that will survive oncoming traffic, cement blocks, plane crashes, and still have enough power to mow down two individuals in one hit and run?

Meet the 2004 Pontiac Aztek.

is it Aztek or Aztec?

to be honest, outside of this show, I cannot remember ever seeing one of those before.

While a commercial failure that is commonly cited as one of the worst automobiles ever produced, the Aztek has seen a resurgence in popularity and public interest in the late 2000s and early 2010s thanks to the AMC series Breaking Bad and popular culture's subsequent association of it with the show's protagonist Walter White.

Congrats on finding actual blatant product placement. When breakfast and Walt pulled up in their cars and revved their engines I was just waiting for an SRT logo to flash on the screen. Nothing like that has a happened on Better Call Saul. Not yet.

I don't remember off hand. I feel like there was some scotch or something with like a 5 second shot of the label and maybe like miller lite or something... I promise you they are in there.

Give it up dude. Have you not watched a tv show in the last 15 years? If someone were to ask me about things in Better Call Saul product placement would have been about the last thing I would think of

Seriously, an opening scene when he's working at the place that was brought up in breaking bad? A fricking car? :rotflmao: what are they supposed to do walk or ride bikes everywhere? A camera shot of a bottle of scotch?? There are shots of alcohol bottles In just about every single show where a character is drinking...you know...to inform the viewers that there is scotch in Sauls cup, not iced tea

Do you think they got the mention for free in Breaking Bad?

They did.

Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould do a weekly insider podcast like they did for BB and Peter said that he made the Cinnabon thing up - they were originally going to say McDonalds or Burger King but he thought Cinnabon was a little more obscure and he liked the way the word sounded.

They also talked about how when that BB episode aired that the official Cinnabon twitter account tweeted them and thanked them for mentioning their company. Then when BCS was picked up and they had the idea of showing Saul working at a Cinnabon in the pilot cold open, THEY called Cinnabon and asked if it was okay and Cinnabon offered one of their locations for the shoot - for free. The CEO of Cinnabon is even in the shot - when the guy Saul is suspicious of hugs that woman, the CEO is in the shot. They said she had a hat on.

So, no - Cinnabon did not pay for the mention. Cinnabon had no idea it was going to happen. The producers asked permission for the BCS scene and Cinnabon agreed.

Is it good PR for Cinnabon? Yes but it was not initiated by them and no one "sold out".

Now, if I never type the word Cinnabon again, that would be great.
