They had a team back in the 80's, with the "RPM Offense".

I remember:
"R" was Mark Rypien, QB (had a good career in the NFL);
"M" was Reuben Mayes, RB (and Saints favorite for a couple years);

Anyone remember who "P" was?

Kerry Porter????
I got that off Google; did that guy pan out too? I mean, Rypien spent a long time in the NFL (offhand, I believe he won a Super Bowl); Mayes was a 1000 yd back for the Saints once or twice. Did Porter do anything?

I happened to think about it, because I'm old enough to vaguely remember the college team at the time (they got some love with the media after Mayes went off on somebody); and with the recent LSU group of Mettenberger (started a few games as a rookie, put some numbers up), Hill (1000 yd back with Cincy) and Beckham (huge season with Giants), I sorta drew a comparison.

Hmmm. Thought "P" was a WR, guess I was wrong.

The "RPM" offense consisted of QB Mark Rypien and RBs Kerry Porter and Rueben Mayes.

Porter played in the NFL for three seasons for the Bills, Raiders and Broncos.

He had 101 total yards from scrimmage for his career.

I thought the "P" was for Reg Pridmore.

ETA: Boy, was I wrong! Reg Pridmore was a motorcycle racer from England. Wish i would have googled him before posting.
