Cable Box Question

I travel for work quite a bit and typically stay away from home about a week at a time. about half of the time, when I come home and turn the tv on, it says that my cable box is not authorized and that I need to call the cable company...
my bills are bank drafted, so I know that is not the problem....any idea what causes this?...

Does the cable box stay powered? Does reseting the box and/or tv fix the issue?
