How come when people are selling dogs

they say "rehoming fee of..." rather than just coming out and saying they are selling a dog for whatever price? I don't get it.

I think that's a Craigslist thing. Plus, it sounds nice when you're trying to get rid of the dog that's chewing all your chairs, and shitting in your closet.

plus, they aren't allowed to charge money for animals on there so it is a way around it.

because there is a certain sect of folks that think you should never sell a pet and this language softens that act a bit...
kind of like when someone says they "repurposed" an item...sounds a whole lot more socially acceptable than saying they found it in a dumpster and brougnt it home...
