Article by Mark Etheridge on D1baseball.com on Lange's excellent performance yesterday. Now if Godfrey can impress in similar fashion, this will be a great weekend for the present and future of LSU baseball.

Thanks for the link! These freshman are impressive, if they settle in to the move to CBB we could be real tough this year!

Looking forward to seeing what Godfrey delivers today!!

Man, I was wondering where all of the baseball threads were. Lange was indeed awesome. I'm confident we'll have adequate middle relief this year; Stallings might be the real deal at closer; we have an interesting setup man in Strall; and Bain showed potential. Now, if Godfrey can develop into a guy who can give us at least five innings, we'll be set at pitching.

Cartwright can be serviceable as well. Person and Bugg are both solid relief options too.

Mark Etheridge has written some really good stuff the past couple of days. Much better than the local articles in my opinion.

Lange looked really solid yesterday, I was impressed. Hopefully Godfrey has a great day today so we can feel really good about our weekend rotation.

I hate to be "that guy" but why did Bouman, who was clearly off his game, get a second inning and Cartwright, who was pitching great got pulled after 1 inning?

Glad for the W, but the pitching changes didn't seem to have any rhyme or reason.

Probably because the plan is for Bouman to be a long relief guy this year.

Forgive my ignorance, why did he make it to LSU? Just wondering after reading Kansas Coach say they offered as a sophomore and never thought he'd play college ball.

Early in the season everyone is going to get their innings. Starters are on a set pitch count. The same thing will happen today. Hell, Nola had a no hitter going in his 1st or 2nd start last season and still got pulled.

Hopefully shite like that won't happen come SEC play. But then I remember Bouman getting pulled in the six after 6 scoreless innings against Houston last year.

There are going to be games when LSU needs a reliever to eat up innings and CPM has been touting Bouman as that guy. If CPM is looking down the road it makes sense to give Bouman the innings.

Alex was another recruit that expressed to professional baseball his strong desire to play for LSU and, therefore, went undrafted.

Yeah, I was wondering why he was even in that game with the lead we had...Then I saw why, need to get some of these guys to shake the rust off..
