My wife and I, along with our daughter, watched it for the first time last weekend. I rarely watch anything but DVR'd programs or pay-per-views, so I had heard next to nothing about it. I'm not a fan of Ben Affleck but thought he was great in it, as well as psycho lady. All-around good movie IMO.

Tyler Perry is absolutely perfect in the movie. Steals the show.
I agree that Perry was perfect in this role. But he doesn't steal the show - there was no show to be stolen, after Rosamund got through with it.

My reaction exactly

From an artistic viewpoint, Pike was the one that stole the show.

Any actress that can make me hate them as much as she made me hate her deserves some damn recognition.

Fair enough. Watched it for the 5th time tonight. Twice in theaters, thrice in the comfort of my own home. I've also read the book (after I saw the movie twice). Fair to say I'm a fan.

what struck me, actually slapped me upside the face the second time I watched it...

was the opening scene with Pike's head in Affleck's lap and he is stroking her hair she gives him this look you perceive as a sign of affection....BUT

at the end of the movie and its the same scene but THE LOOK you see it completely different and immediately notice the just fricking bat shite crazy behind those eyes of Pike's and you feel the fear even without seeing Affleck's character...

Just creeps me out everytime I watch it because we all were so blind to The Look the first time.

So well done. If you go into the movie blind, you get the feeling that Nick the psycho killed this innocent woman from that shot. Fincher is such an awesome director. And Pike is a wonderful actress to pull off that look.

I've heard people say that they liked it, but they would never watch it again, but I don't get that at all. The movie needs to be seen twice. Understanding that her narration is from the made-up journal from the beginning makes the early part of the movie much different in my opinion. And there are so many little things to notice.

My wife and I watched it last night and enjoyed it. It was good but not great IMHO. David Fincher did a good job of setting up the plot and the mood but in the end the plot lacked credibility. Good acting throughout though.

Affleck was solid in his role as the husband and Pike was well cast as the wife and had a good performance. Tyler Perry was great as Nick's hotshot lawyer and Neil Patrick Harris was perfect as the old boyfriend. This doesn't appear to be a spoilers thread so I will leave it at that.

The way that guy says "boobs" cracks me up. The GoT one is also hilarious.

Yea, the GoT one is even funnier if you ask me. The list of deaths of everyone associated with Sean Bean had me chuckling for sure.

Just watched the movie last night with the wife. She had read the book and knew about it. I went into it blind. That was pure awesomeness. Women with the crazy eyes and the way Amy's (Pike) eyebrows were done for that movie gave her the crazy eyes.

Went into the movie blind, like others. Wife read the book and didn't warn me about anything.

I was extremely turned-on by Pike, early in the movie. I ended up being horrified, when I recognized the 'craziness' but was still turned on. Until...well, you know what happened.

It's incredible how stupid people are, but at this point people know that Rosamund Pike is nominated for Best Actress. So you definitely see the twist coming

Or flashbacks...

That movie was hot garbage. I felt like I was watching a lifetime movie.

The book was a lot better because you didn't know if she was alive or not.
