if you're in the area, stay away.
overcooked - they had the consistency of bread pudding almost. mushy and soggy as hell. every single one fell apart when I tried to peel them.
no discernible seasoning. they were absolutely flavorless. I assume they boiled in water with a half a can of Tonys and sat for 3 hours.
I was extremely disappointed. I ate maybe 5 of them, saw that the rest were mushy and bad so I sent the rest of the 2 pounds back.
this place has really solid étouffée, jambalaya, etc, has abita on tap, and is great for LSU and saints games, so I was really expecting something good. I had exponentially better crawfish at razzoo's even though they toss with seasoning after the boil. at least they were cooked perfectly.
just a rant and an FYI for people in the area.

When they started expanding, opening new restaurants in the burbs a few years ago, they took a quality nose dive. The original down on lower greenville can still be good but can also have an off night too often. And they are about to open another concept next door to the original so the owners Charlie and Chris's attention are probably on that.

but here's the thing, the rest of their food is pretty good. the four of us got Cajun tamales (deep fried crab stuffed jalapeños) and crab stuffed mushrooms. we ordered jambalaya, étouffée, pasta Monica, and fried shrimp. it was all well done and very flavorful. we were all happy with our meals, just not the crawfish whatsoever.
so it's not like it's an overall quality issue, it's just the crawfish. I've been several times and the crawfish is the only negative I've experienced.

we went a few weeks back and it was a big dissapoint. Zap is correct when they went north it went downhill.

TH is correct. The rest of their food is rather good. I eat it a few times a week. They just redid their jambalaya, dirty rice, and they have new bread for poboys. The changes have made a huge difference. They also just doubled their menu with "american food". Burgers, chicken fried steak, etc...
On a better note, they have the best pours in town. And no, i don't work there.
