What a ridiculous story... This kid lost his mother, younger brother, younger sister, and his mother when he was young because a plane his father was piloting crashed.

Fast forward years later.

Father is remarried, woman he marrys bring three daughters and they become a "family" again...

The father crashes another fricking plane and kills his new wife, (maybe one of the step-daughters) and himself.

Austin was in both plane crashes and survived both and is attending Michigan on a basketball scholarship.

Is it just me? Or should someone have taken this dude's pilot's license?

Tragic story...

When he was being interview, he was asked, "Forgive me for asking, but do you ever blame your father?" And the kid responded, "Unequivocally, no. To me, he is the man of the millennium"

Friend of mine from Michigan, said there were a lot of "unanswered questions" surrounding both crashes and made it sound like it was pilot error both times.

I was pissed when I watched that. Idiot dad who can't fly killed two of his mothers.

I know that they said the first crash was due to pilot error. I'm assuming the 2nd one was too considering the father was attempting to land going the wrong way

I mean, what are the odds of being in a plane crash..? What are the odds of being in TWO PLANE CRASHES?

The father was obviously out of his depth and was probably just bored and thought, "I guess I'll get my pilot's license"

"Well, it's not like it's going to happen again... C'mon kids, hop in!"

I think he was trying to prove a point after the first crash was ruled pilot error. They say he vehemently disagreed with the ruling

Any sane person would never fly again after killing his wife and most of his kids in a plane crash he caused. Something was seriously wrong with that guy and his son is in denial if he doesn't fault his dad entirely for killing his family twice

That same dad:

"The brakes, they just stopped working! I swear!"

After watching that video I never heard them say anything about alcohol. Was that totally ruled out? The dad kind of has the look of a guy with an old drug habit tbh...

He did. He proved he was a shitty pilot.

Well he looked up to the guy obviously. He doesn't want to admit his dad is an idiot.

Not sure why anyone would 'downvote' my post. The poor kid's dad killed his entire family through his arrogance and ineptitude. Had he survived the second crash, he probably would have kept going at it til the cousins, pets, etc were dead too.

Would you say the same about someone that was involved in two fatal car accidents?

The amount of technical skill and competence needed to fly a plane vs drive a car are not comparable.
