My eternal memory of LL in the NFL will be him jumping up, clapping, nodding his head, and going apeshit after tackling Pierre Thomas (after Thomas had run for like an 8 yard gain)

Also he's big enough to support in run coverage or fill gaps. I'd say give him a workout at olb.
He's never played linebacker in his life. You can't expect him to take on pulling guards and tackles in the NFL. This isn't madden where your safety gets old and slows down and you just slide him into OLB because he has a high tackle rating. Landry would be quite possibly the worst outside linebacker in the NFL. Perhaps even in NFL history. The positions aren't even remotely similar. Most guys struggle with a change from ILB to OLB and vice versa. It's pretty silly to think a guy that's played safety his entire life would be a better option at outside linebacker than professional outside linebackers, particularly under the premise of him being a "coverage linebacker"
If he can't cover anyone from the safety position, moving him 7 yards closer to the LoS isn't going to magically enhance his coverage ability. I don't understand some people

Thank god. I was really beginning to think the worst after reading that first page. Does he have the physical ability to play the position? Meh, maybe. But sometimes the most important measurable is experience. You are asking a guy to learn a lot in a short period of time. Not so much the cerebral part of the position, but the instincts you gain by only playing the position.
Also it's a completely different style of play. OLB has to be able to shed blocks from interior linemen on stretch and pull plays, have enough leverage to beat tackles, and also have the sheer ability to tackle a downhill runner. That is no small feat. Would he be better than most of the NFL OLBs in coverage? Absolutely. But he'd get taken out on run plays pretty quick.
For the Saints to take a chance on him at OLB you're basically asking for a more underwhelming Martez Wilson experiment.

Careful, you have that LSU tag next to your name. You should automatically sympathize.
